Medea is an ancient Greek tragedy written by Euripides, based upon the myth of Jason and Medea and first produced in 431 BC. The plot centres on the actions of Medea, a former princess of the kingdom of Colchis, and the wife of Jason; she finds her position in the Greek world threatened as Jason leaves her for a Greek princess of Corinth. Medea calculated desire for revenge against her unfaithful husband Jason is taken by murdering his new wife as well as her own two sons, after which she escapes to Athens to start a new life.
Our modern interpretation of Euripides' play Medea, involved a dark gothic theme, in which we were dressed in dark punk/gothic attire and themed our minimalistic set around such topics.
Playing the supporting role of King Ageous was a character that needs no introduction, he is a weak man, with a social standing and few moral values. His overwhelming desire to have children causes him to aid Medea in her irrational vengeance.
Greek theatre often revered in the acting world as some of the most fascinating and compelling theatres was something that excited me to perform in.
